Alberta Club Golden Retriever -
picture, breeders
The main beauty of the breed is its dense water-repellent double coat. It is very important for fetching downed fowl from cold water, which is the original purpose of these dogs. The outer coat should be firm and resilient, lying close to body; it may be straight or wavy. These dogs have a long natural ruff around the neck and moderate feathering on the back of forelegs, tail and on underbody. The coat color should be rich and lustrous varying from light cream to dark brown. This breed doesn't require any cutting or clipping, except feet trimming for neater look.
