Golden Retrievers - Health Issues
Golden Retrievers, like any other dog breed, have some genetic health problems. Dogs of this breed are prone to congenital eye defects and hip dysplasia. Both parents of the pup that you are intending to buy should have OFA and CERF certifications. Heart disease and Von Willebrand's disease have also been reported in this breed. The Golden Retriever's owners should watch out for skin allergies in their pet. Allergies require immediate veterinary attention.

You are not recommended to buy Golden Retrievers from the breeders who do not have both the sire and the dam Hip and Eye certified. Insist on seeing the dog's certifications.
